Racing car technology is already accessible to the Brazilian consumer.

Did you know that the rearview mirror first appeared in the 1911 Indianapolis 500? And that multifunctional steering wheels originated in motorsports? Race tracks are authentic laboratories for testing products and technologies that eventually tend to adapt to mass-produced cars and change the way we interact with vehicles.

The Paraná-based company, Teclub Maxon Oil, is one of the companies that conducts tests on the tracks. As a manufacturer of high-performance automotive lubricants, the brand is able to offer consumers a standard of excellence above the average by developing products also designed for competition engines.

“Lubricant is vital for the proper functioning of a vehicle under normal conditions and even more important for racing vehicles, as their functions are pushed to the extreme. A racing engine works constantly at its maximum, and a lubrication failure can lead to an immediate breakdown, which is why the quality of a lubricant is so important, especially under extreme conditions,” says Edson Reis, CEO of Teclub Maxon Oil and also a driver in the Copa HB20.

Teclub Maxon Oil conducts tests on practically all vehicles in the Maxon Racing line, which currently compete in automotive categories such as Porsche Cup, Copa Truck, Hyundai Copa HB20, Turismo Nacional, and Gold Classic, as well as the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the United States. The vehicles sponsored by Maxon are driven by experienced drivers, such as Sérgio Jimenez, Lucas Bornemann, Fabiano Cardoso, Daniel Kelemen, and Christiano Bornemann.

“Races are a true laboratory where we collect lubricant samples and work on continuous improvement. After each testing session, training, or competition, we analyze how much the lubricant has degraded, examine the particles in the oil that indicate engine wear, among other factors that are evaluated and passed on to the technical area,” explains Edson.

And the advancements do not stop there. Teclub Maxon Oil is preparing to launch a product in 2021 that was born 100% on the race tracks, the Maxon Xtreme performance additives line, and a new line of lubricants that, among other advantages, will comply with several car manufacturers’ standards.

“Maxon Xtreme is a highly efficient line of additives for use in fuel, cooling, and engine lubrication systems. The product’s performance was not only tested in the laboratory, as most companies do. We believe that even for use in normal vehicles, automotive products should be tested in racing vehicles, as this way we can ensure high-performance products,” concludes the CEO.
